Guest Lecture - Moral and Citizenship Educational Policy in Singapore
The Educational Policy Study Program, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FIP UNY), held a Guest Lecture: Moral and Citizenship Educational Policy in Singapore on April 22, 2026. The event took place at the Moh. Amin Building, FIP UNY, and was attended by undergraduate students of the Educational Policy Study Program.
The lecture featured Nur Diyanah Binte Anwar, Ph.D., from the National Institute of Education, Singapore. In her presentation, she discussed the framework of moral and citizenship education policies in Singapore, highlighting how the education system is designed to cultivate integrity, ethical values, and a strong sense of social responsibility among students.
She also elaborated on the government’s policy approaches in integrating moral and citizenship values into the national curriculum. The session provided insights into how such policies remain relevant in addressing global challenges and evolving social dynamics.
The lecture was conducted interactively, with an engaging discussion session where students actively asked questions and explored comparisons between the implementation of moral education policies in Singapore and Indonesia. This exchange enriched students’ cross-national academic perspectives.
The event was also attended by the Dean of FIP UNY, demonstrating institutional support for strengthening international academic collaboration. This presence reflects the faculty’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education through global engagement.
Through this activity, students are expected to gain broader insights into international best practices in educational policy and to adapt these values within the Indonesian educational context.
